Granoff Music Center
20 Talbot Avenue
Medford, MA 02155

From the west: Routes 2, 3, 9, Interstate 95, or west via the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate 90), exit onto Route 128 (a.k.a. Interstate 95), and proceed to its intersection with Route 2. Proceed east on Route 2 to the Junction of Routes 2 and 16. Take Route 16 east through two full traffic lights. After you cross Broadway and pass the Foodmaster grocery store, you will see blue signs on the right for Tufts University as you enter a rotary. Follow the blue signs and take a sharp right (and first right in the rotary) up the hill on Powder House Boulevard. At the third traffic light turn left onto Packard Avenue. You are now on the Tufts campus. Take your next right onto Talbot Avenue. The Granoff Music Center is the last building on the street on your right. Parking for visitors requires the purchase of a parking permit.

By MBTA Bus (from Cambridge) Take the no. 96 bus towards Medford Square. After you pass the Powderhouse Rotary (after Davis Sq.)--you will see the Tufts playing fields to your left. Get off at the next stop (Talbot Ave). The Granoff Music Center is the first building on the left.

By the MBTA Train (subway): Take the red line outbound (towards Alewife) and get off at Davis Sq. Station. Get out at the College Ave exit and you can walk from there to Tufts (continue down College Ave until you get to the Powder House Rotary--walk across and continue on College Ave--the Tufts playing fields are on your left Turn into either the parking lot (to enter on the lower level) or Talbot avenue--the first street after the parking lot to enter on the main level. The Granoff Music Center is the first building. There is also a free shuttle from Davis Square.

Gamelan rehearsals are in the World Music Room (M085), located on the lower level of the Music Department Building. The closest entrance is from the parking lot near the music library. There is a door that opens up near the track field. Go in the two sets of doors and turn to the left. The World Music Room will be on the right side past the Fisher Performance hall on the left.

During the summer and at other times when Tufts is not in session, the door near the World Music Room will probably be locked. Instead, enter through the main doors on Talbot avenue. (The door to the right of the revolving door will be the one most likely unlocked.)

If you enter through the main doors on Talbot avenue, go to the back of the entrance area to stairs and elevator. Go down one flight and turn left.

Gamelan Laras Tentrem Rehearsals are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:00-10:00pm year-round. During the Tufts school year, the Tufts gamelan ensemble class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:30-8:00.
